Good Morning My Pray Warriors,
I hope you all have enjoyed your summer and now everyone is back to their routine. I'm still working on my walking daily and it’s definitely getting better. I'm walking 100% of the time at home with my cane but still take the walker when I go out. One day, I hope to be on the cane all the time and my long term goal is to walk independently one day. Prayers Work! I'm still doing weekly therapy with one of the therapist I had at Scottish Rite several years ago. She is great and meets me at my uncle’s gym in Braselton. She helps me continue to set new goals for myself. I'm working on riding the stationary bike up to 20 minutes a day. I'm #30 on the waiting list at Shepherd's "Beyond Therapy" program, which I have been on for over a year. Please pray I get in this program soon.
Life's a Party has had a great summer. We have been so blessed with work to help keep me busy. Adding the inflatable’s really helped for this summer. Let me know if you need tents, tables, or chairs for any fall parties, or football events. I would love to "Bring Life to Your Event."
I am also counting down the days to my sister’s wedding. Erin and Kyle's wedding is Oct 10. She has finished taking the bar and has started work in Atlanta. Good Luck Erin!
Football time is here! The Commerce Tigers kick off this week with our rivals against the Jefferson Dragons. Go Tigers! Of course, everyone knows my favorite college team, "South Carolina." I've been reading on their website, practices are going well. Which we can't forget about Clemson! Are you ready for some football!!!!!
Thank you so much for continuing to pray for me and many others. Let me know if you would like me to add your prayer request to my site. Life is Good!

I hope everyone is having a safe summer. Let me catch you up on everything since my last update.
A Physical Therapist that worked with me at Scottish Rite lives in the Winder area and I have been able to start working with her weekly. She meets me at Pro Cheer and is giving me a lot of new stuff to work on. This is exciting for me.
Life’s A Party rental company is staying very busy. We recently added three inflatables and they are very popular rental. If you are planning a special occasion, party, reunion, or just want to celebrate life...you can go to my website for more information at http://www.lifesapartyrentals.com/
I still enjoy sharing my journey with others, and how God’s grace is with me everyday. If you would like me to come speak at your church, school group or local function, please let me know.
Please pray for Sara Beth Rogers who was in rehab with me at Scottish Rite 6 years ago. She is having some shaking in her hands right now. Her doctors want her to have surgery to help with it. Please pray for her and her family. If you have any other prayer requests please let me know.
Thank you for continuing to visit my website and keep praying for my recovery. God Bless you ALL!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a Happy Holiday season. I’m sorry it has been so long since my last update. But time gets away from you. I’m still at Shepherd in therapy two days per week. This might be my last month. I’m gaining strength back in my legs from surgery and starting to working on hard exercises. I have started using my cane again to walk at home; it seems easier to walk with since having surgery. I hope I continue to gain better control now. I have met a lot of new people at rehab at Sheppard. Some with the same type injury as mine and others that have had a stroke. I have told them it’s a long road, but a road worth working for. Don’t give up! My business “Life’s a Party” is doing very well. Thank You God, my prayer is this year will even be better for it. Please visit my web site www.lifesapartyrentals.com or if you know anyone needing to rent tents, tables, chairs, or more. Please have them call me. I have continued to do a little speaking when called on. I spoke at Nicholson Baptist Church in November for their 5th game quarter. I thank God for allowing me to share my story with others. In November, we learned my dad had to have a pace maker put in to keep his heart rate up. He is doing fine now. I was sadden at the loss of my Nanny Syble on December 11th. She was my mom’s mother. It was a sad Christmas for us all without her. We will all miss Nanny Syble. We have several in our community that have been sick this winter. Judge Booth, Richard Massey, and others. Please add them to your prayer list. Remember to continue to sign my guest book, let me know of prayer requests you may have or just to let me know how you are doing. One of the girls I was at Scottish Rite with signed in a few weeks ago. It was good to hear from her. As I spend time looking back at 2008, I thank God for how much better I continue to get. My memory has gotten better this year as well as my walking. I praise God for all the healing I continue to have. It’s a long road, but God is in control of my life. Please continue to pray for me and all others. God Bless you all!

I hope this update finds everyone doing well. It’s been a while since my last update. I hope to catch you up on all I have been involved with lately.
In May I helped the Ronald McDonald house with their annual Golf Tournament. It was held at the Capital City Club. It’s always good to help with the Ronald McDonald House fundraisers, a place that gave me a home away from home.
In June I started a business called Life’s A Party Rentals. It’s a party supply rental company; we rent out tents, tables, chairs, dance floors, and concession equipment. I named it from the bible verse John 10:10. It’s something to keep me busy during the day and make some money too.
I’d like to congratulate Erin and Kyle on their engagement. They got engaged in July. Erin has asked me to be her man of honor, and I’ve accepted of course. The wedding will be October 10, 2009.
In August I got in with Dr. Kaelin at the Sheppard Center. I have been blessed with another good doctor in my life. He has all kinds of new ideas for me, including my recent surgery which I discuss below. I was very sad to leave all my doctors at Children’s, but turning 21 meant I had to leave Children’s. I will always be thankful for all they did for me.
On September 11th I had surgery on my ankles. The surgeon cut the tendons in both ankles in hope of gaining me more flexibility so that I can keep my feet down when I walk. I still have a tendency to stay on my toes, and Dr. Kaelin says I’ll never walk on my own like this. I hope to get my casts off soon, and then I’ll start physical therapy.
Two weeks ago I helped with a benefit golf tournament for Colton Standridge; Colton is in day rehab and he is staying at the Ronald McDonald House. He was in an accident a while back and has a brain injury too. Please pray for he and his family as they continue the recovery process.
I hope everyone is enjoying football season like I am. I sure was sorry to hear that Clemson let Tommy Bowden go. He’s a good Christian man, and I have met him on several occasions. Clemson needed some changes though, so we’re anxious to see what happens. Of course I’m still pulling for South Carolina too.
Please continue to pray for me. If you have any prayer requests please email them to me, and I’ll pass them along to others and add them to the website.
Prayers Work,

Please pray for this 14 year old boy, Colton Standridge. His parents are Warren and Tammy Standridge, this is their 's only child. He is in the 8th grade at EJMS. He got hit by a car yesterday evening while on his 4 wheeler. Colton just pulled out in the road right in front of a car. He was life flighted to Scottish Rite Hospital. To my knowledge, he has no injuries other than severe head trauma. Colton was wearing a helmet but it flew off when the car hit him. He had surgery to relieve swelling on the left side of his brain last night but had a very bad night. His brain is now swelling on the right side and he is bleeding in his brain. The doctors are meeting as I write this to try to figure out what to do. But realistically, it doesn’t look good. They are doing another surgery this a.m. and they have removed part of his skull to try and relieve some of the swelling. They won't know anything for 3 or 4 days, if he makes it that long.
All my prayer warriors, please join us in praying for Colton and his family.
Colton is at Children's Hospital in Egleston. Please visit his website at caringbridge.org/visit/coltonstandridge
Thank you all.

I hope everyone is enjoying your summer.
I will write soon on more updates on myself. But in the last two weeks we have had a lot of accidents. I wanted to get these listed as prayer request for all.
Mike Easter that cheered at Clemson University with my sister, he had a horrible car accident a few weeks ago and suffered a TBI as I did. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Please visit his website http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/michaeleaster.
Cole Butler 22 years old had a horrible wreck 3 miles from my house. Cole didn't make it. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
Saturday night, we got a phone call that 3 teenagers from Banks County School had just had a car accident. My mom and dad went to school with all three of their parents. One young man didn't make it, Cody Gowder, his funeral was on Monday, August 4th. The other two young men, Kane Duncan and Bill Redmon both were Life Flighted to Atlanta, but are both going to be OK. Praise God! Please pray for these families.
Your life can change so quickly, as I say "Within in the Blink of the Eye" it can all change. Please make sure you are ready to meet the good lord should your time come. Remember, Life's 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react. Make something good come out of each storm in your life.
I have a Dr's appointment today at Sheppard, please remember me as well. I'll update on what I have been up to and how my appointment went shortly.
Please sign my guest book and let me know of any prayer request you may have or how I could help you in your time of need.
Thanks for all and have a blessed day.

Eric’s Spring Update
Happy Spring everyone!
Sorry it’s been so long since my last update. I’m going to try and catch you up on what I’ve been doing lately.
I just finished up my therapy from my last surgery. I did therapy for two days a week for twelve weeks with Brian and Dave at Elite Therapy. It was good to be able to do my therapy here in Commerce and not have to drive into Atlanta. They really did a great job working with me.
In February I spoke at a conference for doctors and therapists at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. I talked about my spasticity and how my doctors have helped he cope with it. Basically, I was trying to help these doctors help their patients who are in a similar situation as me. It was a really good experience.
The Ronald McDonald House is going to build a new house at their Dunwoody location. I have been asked to help raise money to sponsor one of the rooms. I will be posting more on this in the future as I hope all of you will help me with this endeavor. The kick-off for the new house is going to be in June.
I had gum surgery two weeks ago to help with my receding gum lines. This was caused by a lot of different things, one of which being all the different medications I’ve been on the last few years. The surgery went well, and I’m healing up nicely.
On April 16 I’m going to be speaking to a group of college students at Rhinehardt College. I’ll be sharing my testimony with them, so please be in prayer that the Lord uses me to reach out to these young adults.
Lastly, my family and I have found a new church home. We’ve been looking for some time now, and we are so excited that God has called us to be a part of Maysville Baptist Church. We joined this past Sunday night, and we’re looking forward to seeing how God is going to use us in this church.
Please continue to check my website and sign my guestbook. The guest book is a good way to let me know your prayer requests and/or to let me know if you would like me to come speak to your church or organization. Please continue to pray that God will use me in a mighty way, and as I always say “Prayer Works.”

Sorry it's been so long since my last update. I've been going to orthopedic doctors for several months now regarding the toning in my left leg. Three weeks ago, I had surgery to stretch the accillian tendons in my left leg and they cut back the tendons in my toes because my left heel would not go down flat while walking and my toes stayed curled under. The surgery went well; I was put in a cast for two weeks and could not walk or stand at all during that time. I went back this past week for a follow up, they removed the stitches and put me in a walking case, so I can start to stand and put pressure on my leg again. My next appointment is Jan 7th, at that time they will take the cast off and I will start rehab with that leg again. Please pray that this surgery will help me gain even more independence with walking for myself.
Hope everyone is ready for Christmas! Although you might have your gifts bought for everyone, don't forget the true meaning of Christmas; it’s the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I hope you are able to help the less fortunate ones or will give to your favorite charity. Nothing is better than giving this time of year.
Please continue to pray for others and me. As I always say "Prayer Works” I hope to add a prayer request section to my site in the near future.
I hope everyone enjoys the Holiday Season with your family and friends. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family and me!

November 8th-10th, Star 94 and Kauffman Tire will host the 5th Annual Cares for Kids Radiothon. During the 3-day event, Star 94 listeners will meet some of the biggest "stars" of all - the patients at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The Cares for Kids Radiothon will feature stories of triumph and hope from families Children’s has touched, as well as meet current patients at the hospital who will share their own experiences live on the air. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Children’s Miracle Network-Atlanta, which raises funds for Children’s, a non-profit pediatric healthcare organization.
As you know, I support star 94's yearly philanthropy! Read below to find out how you can support too!
During the course of last year’s broadcast, thousands of Star 94 listeners opened their hearts and made pledges totaling more than 1 million dollars. This year, we're counting on our generous Star 94 community to bring even greater hope and support. You can pledge your support by becoming a monthly Miracle Maker or simply calling in to the Foresters phone bank and making a donation during the Radiothon.
